Peer Review Process

All submissions are initially assessed by an Editor, who decides whether or not the article fits the scope of the journal and is suitable for peer review. Submissions considered suitable in principle will undergo double-blind peer review by two independent experts. The assessment criteria are originality, scholarly rigour and clarity. Reviewers are asked to provide formative feedback where an article is not yet deemed suitable for publication in the journal. Based on the reviewer reports the editor will make a recommendation for rejection, minor or major revisions, or acceptance. Overall editorial responsibility rests with the journal’s General Editor, who is supported by an Editorial Board. The outcome of the peer-review process is typically communicated within ten weeks from submission.
